Experience the Christmas Market

Nuremberg’s Christkindlesmarkt is one of the most famous Christmas markets in the world, drawing visitors from around the world. Over 200 stalls offer prime traditional Christmas ware including breads, Christmas ornaments, toys as well as potential Christmas presents. Most products on offer are hand crafted or home made so visitors can look forward to a unique browsing and shopping experience. Also at hand are excellent beer and sausage stalls to sustain the busy air.

Participate in a Nuremberg Festival

Nuremberg has a busy year long schedule of events ranging from markets to open air music festivals to sporting competitions. Apart from the Christmas Market, visitors can look to time their visits with one of the mammoth flea markets or the Volksfest, Nuremberg’s own Oktoberfest. Music lovers will not want to miss the Bardentreffen and the Rock Im Park which attract several thousand visitors each year. Try the Local Gastronomical Delights
Spicy Gingerbread and the Bratwurst are somewhat of the local specialties. There are several large scale manufacturers offering packaged gingerbread but you will be better off sampling them at the local bakeries if you are out looking for the genuine product. The Nurnberger Bratwurst is traditionally half the size of a regular sausage but has many more spices and makes for a splendid meal. Several breweries in Nuremberg and the surrounding region produce excellent beers and you can complete your meals with these.
Explore Subterranean Nuremberg
A beautiful city above ground, things to do in Nuremberg stretch on underground. The characteristic sandstone of the region permitted the creation of several structures below ground resulting in a labyrinth of beer cellars, war bunkers and water channels hidden underneath the well walked streets of the city.
